2005-06 MDGA Youth Representative Kaylene Lyons Hello, my name is Kaylene Lyons and I am this year’s MDGA Youth Representative. I am very honored to have been chosen out of three people to be able to talk to youth about the dairy goat industry. I am 13 years old and I have owned goats for four years. I own three Toggenburgs, a 3 year old milker, a dry yearling, and a junior kid. I have an older sister and a younger brother who both own goats. I am going into 8th grade at Farquhar Middle School in Olney MD. I am an active 4Her in the Montgomery Co. 4H Dairy Goat Club. I love to show, sew, knit, and participate in public speaking. I also play soccer, Irish dance, play the clarinet, and sing in my church’s children’s choir. I hope to do many things this year to support the dairy goat industry including being at many shows to support my fellow goat owners and to be able to talk to many youth who may or may not own goats. |
